Message from the President
Health and Leisure Portugal: Association for the Promotion of Health Tourism (H&L), was created in 2013. The aim was to publicize and promote health care abroad in conjunction with national tourism.
This vision was based on the experience and extensive knowledge held by the founding members and today involves actively contributing to positioning Portugal as a destination of excellence in health and wellness tourism.
The COVID-19 epidemic has reinforced this ambition. Time and the national reaction showed that the National Health System (National Health Service, health and social private services) needed everyone, as complementary and decisive elements in mitigating its negative effects.
Bearing in mind the non-profit nature of the institution, we want to move forward with the prospect that the signing of collaboration protocols with partners in the health and tourism sectors will be decisive for the success of the objectives set by the Association’s Board of Directors.
Respect, ethics, responsibility and solidarity will be moral foundations that we will take into account in this very ambitious project.
It is in this line of action that we are counting on all our partners, for the good of everyone’s health and of national tourism.
