President

Frederico José Rovisco Duarte is a retired general and was Chief of Staff of the Army from 2016 to 2018. A graduate of the Military Academy, his professional military life has been marked by the performance of diverse positions and functions, namely in the operational sphere, teaching and training, and staff of the army, in Portugal and abroad. He entered the business world in 2023 with the MIVE project. He is the author of the book Exército Português 1974-2019 45 Anos em Democracia [Portuguese Army 1974-2019 45 Years in Democracy], which seeks to situate the reader in the political and military context of this period of great evolution.

António Tavares

António Manuel Lopes Tavares holds a PhD in Political Science, International Relations and Citizenship. He has a law degree and is currently a business manager and university lecturer. Chairman of the General Meeting of Montepio Geral, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Real Seguros SA, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Patris SA, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of União das Misericórdias Portuguesas, Provider of Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto, Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona Centro Universitário do Porto, Chairman of the General Meeting of FC Porto and Director of Associação Amigos do Coliseu do Porto.

Rita Marques

Vice-President

Rita Marques is a consultant and lecturer at Porto Business School, University of Porto. Her main interests are related to Territories and Social Welfare, Public Policy, Innovation and Technology, and Entrepreneurship. She is also a specialist in the Just Transition Platform and the Harnessing Talent Platform at the European Commission. Rita Marques was Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services (2019-2022), during which time she was part of the Executive Committee of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). She was CEO of Portugal Capital Ventures (2018-2019) and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Fundação da Juventude (until 2018). She holds an MBA from the University of Southern California (2007) and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto (2000), as well as several Senior Executive Programs from London Business School, IE, Texas Austin and Católica – Lisbon. She was invited to join the international honor societies Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi (2007).  She was awarded the Gold Medal by the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (2022), and received the Leadership and Social Impact Award by the World Travel and Tourism Council (2021). Rita was elected Personality of the Year by the AIP | BTL Foundation and Publituris, the oldest trade publication in Portugal on Tourism, in 2024 and 2022, respectively. She is the mother of three children.

André Cardoso

Board Member

André Miguel Conrado Cardoso, an entrepreneur from a very young age, has dedicated himself to creating and developing strategies and implementing projects in various areas and markets, from planning to project implementation, defining markets, identifying talent and organizing teams. With a non-linear path, he has also worked in the financial and strategic areas of medium-sized companies, creating and managing projects in the tourism and enology sectors. He is also an independent consultant for various companies in the areas of Tourism, Marketing, Communication and Insurance. He is a guest lecturer at the Lusófona Group and an IEFP trainer.

Pedro Cardoso

Board Member

Pedro Miguel Conrado Cardoso was born on April 26, 1984 in Porto. He graduated in Management from the Faculty of Economics of Porto in 2009. He completed several postgraduate courses in service management and an MBA in Management of Health Organizations and Services. Over the years he has collaborated with various institutions, and in 2011 he was the Financial Assistant for the ELENA Project – a European Investment Bank and Vila Nova de Gaia City Council project. Since 2018, he has been Managing Director of Travel Feeling – Travel Agency, and a consultant to companies in the areas of communication and tourism, as well as a guest lecturer in these areas at Lusófona University. With an active professional life, he also participates in a wide range of social, cultural and solidarity institutions, being president of Plataforma Associação Matosinhos and a founding member of Revista de Partes.

Henrique Santos

Henrique José Pereira dos Santos is a brigadier general in the reserve, out of active service. A graduate of the Military Academy, his professional military life includes working in the Balkan theaters of operations. He has skills in conflict management, working in multinational teams, planning and conducting military operations in war situations, project management, research and development and improving the functioning of organizational structures. He turned to business in 2023 with the MIVE project.
