Message from the President
The I Health and Leisure Portugal International Health, Tourism and Wellness Congress, Health Tourism Promotion Association, take place on November 14 and 15 in the Funchal and is the first event to be held in Portugal covering, integrated manner, the health and tourism sectors, associating them with the promotion of the Portugal brand.
This edition is subordinated to the theme “The Global Health and Wellness Tourism setting” and aims to promote health and wellness tourism in Portugal, providing collaboration between the various actors operating in these sectors, fostering innovation and encouraging responsible practices that benefit both visitors, and host communities.
Emerging trends, market insights and opportunities in the field of health and wellness tourism are some of the topics that will be covered in this congress.
In this encounter, further will be discussed political and regulatory issues related to health and wellness tourism, focusing on promoting responsible and sustainable practices, as well as ways to integrate the sustainability of this sector and assessing its impact on the individual well-being, in the community development, and on the overall health of the society.
Complemently, Congress constitutes as a collaborative platform for sharing knowledge and obtaining inputs contributing to industry growth and sustainability, aiming at improving the well-being of travelers and local populations, while also facilitating networking opportunities for participants to build partnerships and collaborations that can lead to innovative projects in the industry.
There will, also, be the opportunity to encourage discussions of innovative technologies, services and experiences related to well-being and health, which improve the tourism sector, whereas consumers sensitize about the benefits and options available in health tourism and well- be, promoting informed decision-making.
Congress therefore has not only commercial goals (disclosure and promotion of goods or services), but also cultural (disclose, promote and value the cultural resources of the continent and Autonomous Regions), institutional (approach sector policies and share knowledge and experiences ) and educational (academic world engagement).
It is a meeting between professionals and employees that you want, above all, to highlight Portugal as a health and wellness tourism center, making aware of the premises, valences, and care services and therapies in the country.
We will also have the opportunity to share experiences and expertise with foreign professionals speaking in fulcral areas for the industry. In reinforcement of the partnerships that we have already been establishing between the same language speaking countries, we invite all colleagues in the Portuguese Official Language Countries to come to the Funchal on November 14th.
